I mentioned back in November I think about some stuff I ordered from iwoot.com. The original parcel went missing so they sent it out to me again - but only sent me 1 AirZooka. I rang and told them and they informed me that another would be sent out. To this day - it still hasnt arrived.
So I rang today to ask for it to be sent to me - again. What was fantastic customer service has turned a little bit arse...
Shell cooked tea last night - pan friend chicken, with potato wedges and sweetcorn. She also informed me that our plans for Saturday had changed, as her grandparents were going to her mums for dinner, and my presence was requested! So that'll be good. I think I would have met virtually all her family then (mum/dad/step-dad/uncles/cousins, etc).
Currently trying to find somewhere to take her for her birthday meal. We are both going to dress up and go somewhere nice for a meal. Which is proving to be a bit of challenge; Weston not being well endowed with classy restaurants.

| DVDs |
|
Need to order some DVDs for some films I saw at FrightFest 2003 (which reminds me that I must check the site soon to see if they have decided on a date for 2004), plus some others that have been recommended to me/have to buy.
Cypher
Gozu
Cabin Fever
House Of The Dead
May
Finding Nemo (for the kids obviously)
As I have been watching Father Ted (Shell's DVD) at home for the past couple fo days, I found a link to this Father Ted Canonical Priest List - an excellent resource :)

| Sundays |
|
I love Sundays. Stayed in bed til 1pm and got up completely relaxed. Dropped Shell at work and then came home to do house work after doing some shopping.
Cooked Shell some tea - prawn cocktail followed by steak and chips - lovely it was too.
Had to come back to work today - boo! Wednesday night is New Years Eve - so I will be charging the batteries for the digital camera overnight tonight, so I am all prepared for a photo-fest on that most festive of occasions. Should be a good laugh.
I'm also going to try and book January 2nd off today; I need to check everyone else's calendars to see if they are meant to be in work. If they are, I'm going to try and book it off, as an extra day off would be both excellent and useful; Friday being the evening I am taking Shell out for her birthday. We are dressing up and everything.
Sad news of the day is this: Bob Monkhouse has passed away. This is pretty saddening, as I loved both his TV shows, his films (many years ago) and his standup that he did. A very funny, talented guy. He will be missed.

Christmas Day with the kids went really well. They opened all their presents in the morning, after having smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast. Lunchtime went veyr well - they both ate loads (plus put loads on my plate). Then a cold buffet for tea. They were excellent behaved all day and it was great to spend all day exclusively with them, without going out or seeing anyone else.
Spent Boxing Day with Shell at her mums and then went out in the evening to meet up with Tim for his 21st. Bit damp, as everything closed early :(
Had the kids from 10-5 on Saturday and they met Shell in the afternoon when we picked her up from work. We took them to the Wacky Warehouse and part way through playing, Rhiannon went up to Shell and said "I want you to become my step-mum." Then she came over to me and said the same about Shell. Quite bizarre.
When we got back to the house, the kids were essentially fighting over sitting next to her, etc - it was really cool. Quite successful really.
Out again tonight after picking Shell up from work, cooking her tea, etc. Then back to work tomorrow :(

Dead Man Jones has a couple of links to boring stories made exciting. Truly excellent. Consider these 2 from Ananova and the BBC.
What dross!

| Xmas Eve and where am I? |
|
Am I at home in bed with Shell?
Am I doing last minute Xmas preparations?
Am I wrapping Xmas presents?
No I'm bloody not. I'm at sodding work doing bugger all. So far, I have surfed the net and gone to breakfast. Then I will do some chatting, some more surfing, answer some important emails, restructure a database and then go home.
Still - I get paid for being here all day, so it isnt that bad, as I'll be leaving around noon.
We were discussing (over breakfast) what a great day this could be. If we calculate our hourly rate (after tax) and then go to the pub until 5pm, spending slightly less per hour than hourly rate, work will have effectively paid us to get drunk. It seems like a great idea...
But I cant as I'm picking the kids up at 3. And I have loads of wrapping to do. And some more presents to drop off.
Oh yeah. Last night we exchanged presents down the pub. I got The Very Best of the Muppet Show, a rude T-shirt and a remote control mini car/pen thing - which is pretty cool. Looking forward to tomorrow morning when the kids open their presents and then boxing day when I get mine at Shells. She gets hers then as well - so that should be ace fun :)

| Right then |
|
Lets clear something up then. I liked Tracey and she liked me, but things didnt work out the way we wanted. I will be letting her know what has happened and would like to remain friends with her. Like I said, if the timing had been different, then things would be entirely different now.
But I'm happy now and this is unusual for me. I want to hold on to the happiness I have now for as long as possible and I wish Tracey the best in that too. Does that make me bad or callous?

| Old joke but funny |
|
A young man called Fergus wanted to purchase a gift for his new sweetheart, Mara as they had not been together for very long and he wanted to surprise her. After careful consideration, he decided that a pair of gloves would strike the right note, not too romantic and not too personal. Accompanied by his sister he went to Marks and Spencers and bought a dainty pair of white gloves. The sister purchased a pair of panties for herself at the same time. During the wrapping the shop assistant mixed up the two items and the sister got the gloves and Mara got the panties.
Without checking the contents Fergus sealed the package (with a kiss) and sent it to his sweetheart with the following note:-
Dear Mara,
I chose these because I noticed that you are not in the habit of wearing any when we go out in the evening. If it had not been for my sister I would have chosen the long ones with the buttons, but she wears short ones that are easier to remove.
These are a delicate shade, but the lady I bought them from showed me the pair that she had been wearing for the past three weeks and they were hardly soiled at all. I had her try yours on for me and she looked really smart even though they were a little tight on her.
She also told me that her pair helps to keep her ring clean and shiny, in fact she had not needed to wash it since she had begun wearing them.
I wish I were there to put them on for you for the first time, as no doubt many other hands will touch them before I have a chance to see you again. When you take them off remember to blow into them before putting them away as they will naturally be a little damp from wearing.
Just think how many times my lips will kiss them during the coming year. I hope that you will wear them for me on Friday night.
All my love
Fergus
P.S. The latest style is to wear them folded down with a little fur showing.
