| Back at work |

but ill. I'm dosed up on Penicillin, Paracetamol and Ibuprofen (smaller doses of the latter 2 than I was on). I was still off ill yesterday and I still feel pretty shitty and incredibly tired (due to inability to sleep due to pain), but came to work today as there is stuff to do. As long as I remember to take my pills and keep away from anything alcoholic, I should get better eventually.
Yesterday evening, we moved the hi-fi rack from the lounge to my bedroom, along with all my seperates (which havent been used since I moved in). This is all part of the plan to get the downstairs lounge sorted out this week. Found a TV stand in the main lounge as well - which was nice. Tim needs to move a couple of things out of the new room (not much), then I'll clean it and move the TV stand and couch into it. Then we just need the dining table and some chairs for the kitchen and we are done!
Oh - apart from getting an old TV from my mate Andy for free.
Shell and I also had a long discussion about our relationship, our commitment to each other and how that and our entwined lives related to who was going to make a cup of tea and coffee. We spent maybe an hour debating the subject. Excellent fun :)

| Eurgh! (still) |
|
Oh man. I was incredibly ill yesterday. I dosed myself up and went out though. And I think the vodka helped my throat - the brandy I had certainly did.
Got home this morning and got hardly any sleep as my throat started killing me about 6am this morning. Its definately getting worse - the paracetamol and ibuprofen are keeping the pain and swelling down - but when they have worn off, I'm in total agony. Going to collect my prescription today I feel.
Dropped Shell off at work for 2pm and wont see her until tomorrow, as she is working overnight. But I did promise to go and see her tonight with a pizza for tea :) I was going to see Andy and his dad this evening, but frankly, I feel way to bad to do this. I just hope it clears up a bit overnight, so that I can go to work.
Todays music choice is The Piano and the Song. A truly, truly excellent selection of music.
Todays most annoying and time wasting URL is this. Enjoy...

Still not well. Woke up early again and have felt pretty shitty all day. Dropped Shell of at work for 2pm, went to SuperDrug, WHSmiths (to collect Dave Gormans "Googlewhack Adventure") and Bewitched. Got home - went to bed as felt really crappy.
Gotta get some food, etc soonish, as picking up Shell at before heading into town. Was meant to be on a bit of a bender tonight, but frankly, I think I'm too ill and will just sit in the corner moaning.

Went out last night to the acoustic night at Back Bar with Shell and her friend Lee. Jarrod, Cliff and Pete amazed us with their comedy reportoire instead of their guitar skills :)
I was fine when I got home but woke up early this morning in some pain - due to my throat being bad. When Shell awoke I got her to check my glands, and all of them are up - neck, back of head, armpits and groin! So she called the doctors and I went in to see them at 10.50.
He confirmed that indeed I had a gland/throat infection but was unsure if it was viral or bacterial. He prescribed me some penicillin, but only on the proviso that I used it of the situation got any worse.
Apparently, a viral infection will stay as bad as it is (and go of its own accord) whereas a bacterial infection will get worse and needs treatment. He told me to rest over the weekend and see what happens. If it gets any worse, or I get a high temperature, I am to start the medication. Cool.
Essentially then, I have spent all day in bed (apart from going to the doctors and a quick bath). Dozed off and on the whole day and feel like shit quite frankly. Fortunately, Shell is here and has been looking after me, far better than I'll be capable of when she is ill.
Tomorrow morning, we are off to see School of Rock as I got free preview tickets for it from the Radio 1 website. Then Shell has to go to work :(

| Erm.. |
|
This worries me greatly...
But this scared me even more. A picture of me, from 1999, working in Sophia Antipolis, taken by my friend rdnax (Deiderik(!)). Check out the hair and the beard - ouch! If he finds that I am linking to this, I hope he gets in touch. I miss him and Mischa...
And WOW! I just called the Bristol Ticket Shop to ask what I should do as I have lost the voucher for my concert tickets. He confirmed my details, took my email address and is sending me an email form to print out that I can use instead. What excellent service! I've used them before and I will certainly be using them again.

First up - another Harold Shipman joke from my mate Ben. He has been spectacularly late in his text jokes over this, but he managed to send me an original one yesterday.
Harold Shipmans last meal was a curry. The warden asked him how it tasted. "Not bad" said Harold "but I could murder a nan."
Groan!
After yesterdays patter (ooh!) about making posters, Shells course work from yesterday included tarting up a flowchart - in her words (stolen from Rhiannon) "by using glueing and sticking". Come on people. Nurses do not need to be experts in arts and crafts in order to provide care to the elderly or injured. Or do they? Maybe I'm missing something here.
You know - instead of doing standard stitches in a wound - they could do a cross-stitch of Winnie-the-Pooh holding a balloon. Or maybe, when assisting in a skin graft, they could do a little decoupage instead. The possibilities are endless. I will think about this some more, I think :)

| Stupidity and arseholes |
|
Following my link yesterday about Bristol residents, it would appear that there are some other thicky-twits around, who are in need of a large dose of something morphine related, a swift kick to the head and detainment in a padded cell.
This for instance. These people need some serious help. I beg you - dont download the song, or read the lyrics (found on the download page). I don't want to be responsible for you killing yourself...
Would you joke about this? Part of me started considering that maybe the Transportation Security Administration screener was being a bit ghey about it. Then I thought about it a bit more and thought "Nope. She deserves a good lesson." Would you honestly joke to anyone while boarding a plane, that you were a terrorist or carrying a bomb in this day and age? Idiot!
Kev provided me with that last link and also this one. What an excellent use of Army resources, although I am surprised there was any left following the recovery :)
Shell has an IT exam today as part of her college work. We have been through the test exams and I think she should be OK. We spent a while last night making posters. Yes - posters! How being able to make posters will assist someone in being a nurse I don't know. I can imagine it now, being sat at the interview:-
"So can you explain what specialist skills you have?"
"Well, during my previous role I was responsible for drug administration, manual handling and infection control. Oh yes, and I made posters."
"You made posters? Excellent, you are just the person we are looking for, to work in the casualty dept. We never have enough people who know how to make a good poster."
See my point?
With regard to arseholes - read this. The man does his best for 7 years, suffers a massive personal loss and then a load of twats end up writing that kind of thing about him. What a bunch of cunts!

My heart goes out to Shell, her dad and family for the loss they have had today. Shells great-grandmother (100) passed away at 13.50 today. :(
But to reinstate my belief in human nature and how the gene pool needs to be cleansed occasionally...Bristol Residents Rated #1 in Stupidity Leagues
