So the May Bank Holiday has been and gone. And what an utter crap one (weather wise) it was too. Of course, the one good thing is that my home town was not set upon by millions of cackling grockles. My orginal plan, once the kids had gone home and I was at Jams (from around 2pm), was to watch films, drink and be debauched. In truth, I fell asleep for 6 hours... Jam spent a few hours by herself while I dozed, doing this and that until she finally managed to wake me around 9.30... Doh!
The next Bank Holiday isn't until August and thats my FrightFest and Wedding weekend (busy, busy boy!). As I am attending a wedding on the Saturday (coming back from London early on Saturday and returning early on the Sunday morning), I really hope the weather is better.
This next few weeks are quite busy, DJing on Saturday night, Charity Walk on Sunday, DJing next Friday and DJing a wedding party the Saturday after that. Plus tomorrow evening Jam and I are going for an curry with Spoon, Charles, Chaka, James, Demus, Dave and CBear.
I also have parcels to collect, fancy dress to organise for this weekend, laptops to rebuild and drinks out.
Moving towards a more techie nature - over the weekend I swapped out the following -
P3-1Ghz SFF PC running Smoothwall
USB ADSL Modem
Cisco 2924XL Switch
Belkin 54g Access Point
- for a single Belkin Wireless-G ADSL router with built-in switch. So I can now rebuild the PC into a machine for Rhiannon, removing her P4 machine (she only browsed the web on it) and rebuilding that into my "SME Server" box replacing another P3-1Ghz SFF PC - which will then be donated to a worthy cause somewhere.
I also have a busted HP DC7100 (maybe) Desktop that needs repairing - I think the PSU has gone tits up (was lent to someone who then broke it!) so need to see if I can get that sorted. Tricky thing is finding the correct model for it... Here we come google and eBay! Once that is working, that will go to Rhiannon and the older SFF PC can also be recycled/donated. Then it was just be a matter of migrating away from my Naslite box onto something a little faster/smaller/more economic :)
