So. Dead Or Alive - what a pile'o'shite. Absolutely terrible. If you are a prepubescent lad however, you will think it the greatest film EVAR! Only once you've grown up will you realise just how bad it was...
But the bowling went well, came 2nd in both games with 2 terrible scores (111 and 116).
Then Friday night! Well - what an evening. Duncan, James, Andy and I started off at The Knights Templar and then moved to Lloyds Bar, where we stayed for some time. Drinking cocktails. I know we had pitchers of Cheeky Vimto and also some other ones but I cannot remember what they were or even what they tasted like. They had a live band and we danced to them and the music following - still while drinking the cocktails.
Duncan left at some point - I'm not sure I said goodbye to him though. James went off elsewhere, while Andy and I hit the "Soho Club" - a little club in either St Stephens Street or Small Street - I can't remember. But it was kicking. Great DJ, not too expensive drinks and a decent crowd.
The only thing wrong was the large number of people dressed as wrestlers - with capes, masks and all. Andy and I looked a little out of place for a while until the club filled up.
Next time I go out, I think I shall take some fabric and some permanent markers with me, just so I am prepared for any occasion!
Saturday night saw me staying in and watching a great British horror - Severance. Truly superb. Funny, gory and perfectly executed. A few inventive touches to the gore side and at times its both tense and funny and capable of generating a laugh, an "eww!" and a "what?" within seconds of each other!
Today I also invented a new word:
gig-age [gig-ij]
1. the amount of memory in your MP3 player expressed in gigabytes
2. the amount of disk space you have at home available to store illegal MP3s and DivX files
Usage:
1. "New iPod? Whats your gigage?"
2. "You need *another* 400Gb drive? Whats your current gigage?"
This word needs to be introduced into popular culture as quickly as possible. A big thanks for Fluff for this - if it wasn't for the conversation I had with him, I would never have come up with this new word.
Next week - I will doing something different (and maybe interesting). I will using a script to generate a random website name and then invent a product to go with it...
I will also be announcing my plans for global domination of the net as I have a couple of sites I want to release and I need your input (as I discussed some while ago)!
