So another week (and more) and no updates. I've actually had people complain about it this time! So here goes...
JFW came down on the Thursday and we went out for drinks and a curry. A top evening. We caught up with the last few years and it felt like we'd seen each other a couple of weeks ago. Comfortable chatting, no pregnant pauses or anything - just 2 mates chatting. It was great. See you again soon Jon?
I had the Friday off work (to recover), picked the kids up in the afternoon and had them until Sunday morning, when I dropped them off at their Nans for a couple of days. That morning, I had to take my cat Doodle to the vets, as she had blood in her wee and was going every few minutes - poor thing. The vet diagnosed Cystitis and prescribed some anti-biotics - which has now sorted out the problem. Getting a cat to take a pill is always difficult of course, so I resorted to my favourite trick of putting the pill in a teaspoon of water, holding the cat down and putting it in her mouth. Cats seem to have an instinct to swallow when water is on their lips - so waahey! the pill went too. Forget the "hiding the pill in the meat chunks" method - this works, but can leave you a little scratched :)
Rhiannon went to a swimming party on the Saturday, which left me with Chan for a few hours by himself - and he was the model child. Quite, playful, polite - everything you could ask for. Of course, when Rhiannon was around the next day - he was back to normal. Oh well!
Thursday last week, was mine and Shell's 18 month anniversary. 18 Months! They have flown by, really flown. I'm not going to tempt fate by saying how well anything is or isnt going (but regular readers will know that as soon as I say "The sun has been shining for days", generally I get covered in shit for next 3 months)... But where was I? Oh yes - the anniversary.
I had got some stuff planned that Shell knew nothing about what-so-ever. On the day, I was working with her for the day and I left at 2pm under the premise that I had to collect something from work, drop some computer bits off at a mates and would be back for 5pm. In actual fact, I drove straight back to Weston and bought some flowers. These were then placed and arranged in a vase and put in the hallyway, with a card on top and a sign saying "Happy Anniversary - I bet you though I'd done nothing - see the mirror for more instructions"...
I had laid out Shell's clothes, underwear, got shoes ready and arranged for someone to pick her up later on, all she had to do was get showered and be ready. Me? I was in town, sat in the car doing a crossword puzzle and ending up in the pub for a pint. At 7pm she was dropped off outside the restaurant we had our first months anniversary at (where I had a table booked) and we spent the evening together. I rule, I really do :D
Then a lazy weekend and back to work yesterday. My new 250GB SATA drive turned up and I installed that this morning - hmm, how quick?
I've seen loads of things on the net in the last week or so - when I can find the links I'll add them here for your enjoyment. I will update by the end of the week and frankly, its about time I had another rant about something...
