On Saturday, Shell and I decided to use the UKs leading public transport system to go shopping in Bristol. So, using the rail planner found at National Rail, we found a train leaving from Worle at 12:25. We turned up at 12:20.
At 12:25, a bus turned up at the roundabout, but no train. At 12:30, I pressed the information button, to be informed that there were no trains running on Saturday or Sunday at all and we had to catch the bus which would be at the roundabout. Now they tell us. Aargh!
So we drove back into Weston and caught a "rail replacement service" bus from there to Bristol. And we had to do the same on the way home. And it took bloody ages!
Then, this morning, the train turns up 25mins late and its packed. The passengers at Yatton and Nailsea werent able to get on, as there was no more room left after Worle. What a cock-up! I would drive; it costs the same but there is nowhere safe to park. And it takes longer.
Yesterday saw me trying to warm up the bedroom. I covered over the air vents at the top of the windows and covered some cracks beside the window. By yesterday evening, the room was noticable warmer - well, there was an absence of freezing cold air when you walk in anyway.
I also bought one of these:

A Baby George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine
It cooks bacon like you wouldnt believe. I will be experimenting with other items throughout the week and reporting back. It also comes in handy for heating up cold rooms...
